Description

Histological sections from three experimental groups were subjected to Herovici (HV) staining as well as immunohistochemistry (IHC) for Collagen I and III. The groups comprised: (1) native rabbit Achilles tendons (NT; untreated control); (2) a pure DegraPol® tube-treated tendon (Tube only); and (3) a coaxially electrospun DegraPol® tube releasing platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB) (Tube+GF), both evaluated 3 weeks post-transection and suture. The Collagen I-to-III ratio was determined by the red-to-green signal ratio for IHC and the red-to-blue ratio for HV across various anatomical zones. Correlation analyses were performed to compare HV- and IHC-based ratios. Both raw and processed datasets for these ratios are provided. Furthermore, correlation plots are given.
