MushroomNet V1: A Multi-Class Image Dataset for Accurate Mushroom Species Identification
Description
This sample was taken in the National Mushroom Development and Extension Center, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The total number of raw images of various species of mushrooms obtained in the mushroom growing environment under natural lighting was 743. The pictures were taken directly of the actual mushroom production setups in order to make sure that they would vary in terms of texture, shape and lighting conditions. The data is divided into eight mushroom types as in: 1. Ear Mushroom: 72 2. Golden Oyster Mushroom: 57 3. Gray Oyster Mushroom: 44 4. Lion’s Mane Mushroom: 15 5. Milky Mushroom: 27 6. Oyster (Po10) Mushroom: 230 7. Pink Oyster Mushroom: 225 8. Reishi Mushroom: 73 The dataset offers practical mushrooms images which can be used in agricultural technology research and development and intelligent farming systems. Geographical Location The entire mushroom images have been gathered at the National Mushroom Development and Extension center in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is a renowned government-funded facility that focuses on mushroom research and mushroom cultivation and training producing a range of mushroom species that are grown under both controlled and natural environments. Address: Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Latitude: 23.85071° N Longitude: 90.25792° E Use of the Dataset 1. To create and test machine learning and deep learning models in classifying mushroom species. 2. To assist in computer vision research in agriculture. 3. To develop automated systems of mushroom identification based on the image technique. 4. To help researchers to create AI-based solutions in smart farming. 5. To give a benchmark data set on mushroom image classification tasks. 6. To assist in the creation of the mobile or web-based applications related to the mushroom recognition.
